Cast Away Spends 13 Months Adrift

The Mexican fisherman Joseph I. Albarengo Salvador was found on a deserted beach in the Marshall Islands. A coral atoll that came after 390 days adrift and travel 12,500 km. in a vessel of 7 m. length.

He had left in December 2012, with a friend, shark fishing on the Mexican coast. But ended up adrift, and his partner died a few months ago. Instead he, aged 37, survived by eating fish, birds and turtles. His health is poor but is in recovery period.
As if the real story is based on the popular movie " Cast Away " with Tom Hanks in 2000, this amazing story raises serious doubts.

There are doctors who after checking their physical appearance, have commented that is far from the other castaways like appearance , totally malnourished and extremely thin . See also other in disbelief that all this journey, crossing the Pacific ocean drifting in just 13 months and has not been able to be done in so little time .

But this story also has its defenders. Erik van Sebille oceanographer said , it is very likely that a drift boat can be carried by currents from the west coast of Mexico to the Marshall Islands at the time. The president of the Spanish Association of Dietitians , said that turtles have a high nutritional value , and if you've eaten a lot of protein which has not had weight loss, and 13 months could stand perfectly .
